The FelineVMA is pleased to endorse the recommendation by the Veterinary Task Force on Feline Sterilization for the age of spay and neuter surgery. The recommendation parallels the FelineVMA Position Statement on Early Spay and Castration. It is the responsibility of the veterinarian to both educate clients regarding the importance of early neutering/spaying and decide when it is the best time to recommend sterilization for each individual cat.
